On the last of three visits to Belgium in 2017 we hit Bruges for the second time (or Brugge if you want to be continental about these sorts of things), this time while on our first cruise on P&O Cruises Ventura. We explored the city on foot and visited a torture museum, bought soap, and stopped for beer (see: Bruges: Soap, Torture, Beer), and of course there were plenty of opportunities to take some photos of the charming medieval city.

The original photo was decidedly flat and rather dull, suffering from a lack of exposure caused by the variation in light between the sky at the end of the street and the shadowed street itself. For this rework the image has been sharpened, had contrast added, and had the colour boosted. Acid treatment to enhance some of the greens and reds in particular has been overlaid with low opacity just to get a little more depth into all the elements. The detail in the clouds has been brought out a bit and the overall colour temperature has been brought up a little too.
