In November 2020 we took a week’s break on the Greek island of Kos in an all-inclusive hotel. This is not the sort of holiday we’d normally take – as you can tell from looking at all the other bits of travelling we’ve done – but 2020 was a year of not being able to do much else on account of that pesky pandemic and this opportunity arose with just three days notice. We took a package holiday with TUI because we wanted the additional protection that would bring in light of issues with travel insurance following government advice that rendered it invalid, and we actually had a lovely time doing very little indeed. Other than days around the pool we broke up our time on Kos with some walks into the island’s main town and split that time between looking at ruins and drinking in a bar.
