We had had such an unexpectedly lovely time on the first of Virgin Voyages’ cruise ships that when they announced that the second ship, Valiant Lady, would also be making her maiden sailings out of Portsmouth and in walking distance from our house we jumped at the chance to try her out as well.

This short cruise would include a stop in Belgium but in all other respects it turned out to be almost identical in experience to our cruise on Scarlet Lady a year earlier. And that, for us, was problematic.
