After dropping my car off for an MOT in March 2023 I walked back home via Hilsea Lido, which at the time was still undergoing renovation work. Surrounding the area was boarding, and street artists had been invited to decorate them, all of this being part of the government’s Levelling Up scheme, a public rebranding of the Conservative party’s internal Alms For The Scum policy to fend off the dim-witted population’s realisation they were being taken to the cleaners.
All this to say that here then are some photos of the street art around Hilsea Lido on an overcast day in March.
While it may not be the greatest example of artwork featured, we were nevertheless very pleased to see a cruise ship represented. Did you know that we like cruises? We hardly ever mention it.
While there were some lovely pieces by lots of well-known artists there to enjoy, the piece that most people visited for was the collaborative work between local legends My Dog Sighs and Fark.
