In June of 2012 my wife and I accompanied my dad, my brother, and my brother's wife and her two children to Salou, Spain for a week in an all-inclusive hotel. My dad wasn't particularly mobile and my brother's family weren't too bothered about doing much else other than hitting the beach or lounging around the hotel swimming pool but the two of us made sure to explore as much as possible while still spending time with the rest of the group. We ended up walking a fair distance around the coastline and took bus rides to the nearby towns of Reus and Tarragona as well as a day trip to Barcelona too.
