A regular event that takes place whenever I’ve got a new camera lens to play with is to head down to Beaulieu National Motor Museum in the New Forest and spend several hours seeing what sort of shots I can get. Back in 2009 it was the turn of my Canon EF 70-300mm zoom lens and after the standard visit to take pictures of the cars we decided to stop in at the New Forest Wildlife Park on the way back home. The photos in this post, therefore, are a small sample of the pictures taken that day, and clearly the main animals to see at the time were deer, otters, owls, and wallabies although the park’s website indicates there are several other species present right now.
Did you know that deer like to eat clothing? Well we didn’t know that but there was a gated section within the wildlife park where you could walk amongst the deer and I still have fond memories of laughing along with numerous other visitors there at the time who found ourselves the sources of nibbled hoodies and jeans and undone shoelaces.
