Picture Of The Day feature that was used to promote worthy photography on an almost daily basis. This feature has now been superceded by the plugs system in each of the site sections but an archive of prior receivers of this very nearly almost prestigious award are shown here.
Plane Window Ice
This was the link of the day for 07/02/2007
Ice forming on an airplane's window over Australia.
Beautiful colours and a good capture of ice during its formation. The coldness required to create the ice seems at odds with the warmth of the wonderfully warm horizon through the window.
