Hey Bex, great points! Yeah you should definitely back up your "funking" data. Even though the message shows you were copying the data at the time so you were. Well done Bex for telling him to do something he was doing. What a genius. I’ll definitely listen to Bex if he has any more wonderful advice.
"Residing on Jeju Island, Korea is the construction site for the soon to be developed Cocoon House. Designed by the team at Planning Korea, the residence is nothing like anything we have ever encountered in the past. The home revolves around a massive, spherical element that serves as the focal point for the building. The project will undergo its first round of construction this coming September 2012, utilizing all locally sourced finishing materials, and will be completed in the year 2015. The home features plenty of floor to ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape." - Mark H
"Quite frankly, I wouldn't be doing my job as custodian of Miniskirt Monday if I didn't have a post honoring one of the greatest miniskirt wearers in TV history - Kelly Bundy (Christina Applegate). For years, Kelly strutted her minis with consistency and an exultation of spirit the miniskirt deserves." - Mark H
"Birds striking planes cause an estimated 1.2 billion dollars worth of damage annually, not to mention sporadic deaths. Here’s a simple solution sent to me by reader Steve" - Mark H
Went to Mottisfont Abbey today to take in an exhibition of polaroids (and, in later years, digital prints) by Patrick Lichfield. An absolutely wonderful display spanning 1971 through to 2005 and such a great time trying to identify people and places shot by the photographer as test snaps for full photoshoots. The exhibition runs until the beginning of July; it'll probably move somewhere else around the country after then and I highly recommend it if it appears near you. - Mark H
"Sonya Khegay is a young Russian photographer, currently based in Montenegro, who is self-taught and also a wonderful explorer of the photography of femininity. Her work is distinctively soft, both in terms of tone, color and hue, as well as when it comes to composition, depth-of-field and focus, not to mention the subject matter." - Mark H
#SaturdayFF Today you missed out on 700 premium swear words and phrases - some old classics, but some new and exclusive for the occasion - as I spent a couple of hours changing a faulty light pendant at the top of our stairs for a nice new fitting. - »
In my defence: I'm not an electrician; our house was previously "modernised" by a cowboy builder; the existing pendant was fixed to the ceiling using some form of magic sealing compound impervious to everything save my +5 Knife of Stanley; the wiring was old and colour-coded in the now-unused fashion and required a chart to work out what was what; there was absolutely no give in the cable so all the connections and light fitting had to be made at the top of a ladder at the top of the stairs and my glamorous assistant was not a fan of being in such a position. - Mark H
At one point I ended up connecting the switched live to the live loop (today I learnt that there are things called "switched live" and "live loops" in electrical lighting circuits) by mistake which had the odd effects of having the light on when it was switched off and - when I switched it on in order to turn it off - a short circuit that tripped the upstairs fuse (complete with very impressive and very sphincter-tightening flashes when I attempted to flip the switch back on). - Mark H
LOL…so true! It might as well say
"System recovered — But you’re F!#ked!"
Microsith never fails to astound, does it?
