I've lost track of the number of people with whom I've had discussions about architecture and where I've expressed my love for all of it, especially that which others might find ugly or unappealing. You can't beat the art deco style in my book but a close second is the functional concrete stylings that emerged post war and which includes among its offshoots the gorgeous (to me) brutalism style.

So, we had a wander around Southampton today to pick up some bits and pieces and the day was grey and the wind was cold and the beautifully gruesome architecture of the buildings just called out to me and begged to be photographed. And I obliged.

In album Southampton Architecture, 8 October 2011 (11 photos)
