I think.

I don't really do this whole nature thing.

Right now it's difficult to do the whole street photography thing too, partly because it's so damned hot I could cry and partly because all the women are wearing so few clothes I am extremely wary about being seen as some kind of pervert.

I am one, of course, but one doesn't like to be plainly identified as such. You've got to have some mystery in your life.

I would suggest just going for it and shooting. Also, try to shoot other things around the area before you turn the camera on them and don't try to be surreptitious about photographing them.

I understand your dilemma, +Mark Hooper, and am right there with you. This, though, is very well done, even if it is an avocation to your usual work. Excellent colored bokeh, and nice detail on the fly-beastie.

It's irritating. The 50% jury vote in the semis is supposed to offset bloc voting but all it's done is weight the balance in favour of bland entries. Romania were last, which helps, and weird, which helps. Iceland wasn't thrilling, but it was okay; I can see how it got through. - Mark H
