You know those old movies where there's a cool guy standing around, smoking, and eyeing up the hot ladies as they walk past? And the hot ladies in those old movies: they like being the centre of that cool guy's attention?

Well, sometimes those cool guys don't die in drag races trying to impress those hot ladies. And sometimes those hot ladies don't get gunned down by love rivals for the cool guy's attention.

Sometimes those cool guys and those hot ladies simply grow old.

"A man reported to be a serving soldier is dead and two people have been shot in Woolwich, south east London, after what is being treated as a terrorist attack. Downing Street has called a meeting of the Government's Cobra emergency committee after the incident in John Wilson Street, which David Cameron described as "truly shocking". It's irritating. The 50% jury vote in the semis is supposed to offset bloc voting but all it's done is weight the balance in favour of bland entries. Romania were last, which helps, and weird, which helps. Iceland wasn't thrilling, but it was okay; I can see how it got through. - Mark H
