Brighton Street Photography

On Saturday we popped down the coast to Brighton and wandered its streets, its beach, and its pier while I shot anything that interested me. And Brighton has a lot that interests me so this photo album is a little meaty and eclectic.

It was about four years ago on a trip to Brighton, perusing the various jewellers in Brighton's famous Lanes, that we spotted a rather lovely emerald ring in a window. Very lovely. Too lovely to not buy, but too expensive to buy without justification. And that's why we got married three years ago. Romantic? Not really. It's our wedding anniversary on Monday (halloween: very easy to remember) so we celebrated early and hit Brighton again on Saturday.

We've been to Brighton many, many times; the Lanes, the pier, the beach many times. Since I was in a photographing mood (unusual for me, I know) we decided to hit some random, unwalked-by-us streets this time around and discovered the North Laine area of Brighton. How had we never discovered this area before? Shameful! It's a great area; whereas the Lanes seems to have become less quirky over the years, North Laine seems to have embraced the bohemian lifestyle that Brighton's famous for with a passion. Lovely, little, independent shops, market stalls, antiques, crafts. Just lovely.
